The College Art Association of America has received an anonymous gift of $1 million dollars, which will establish a Fund for Travel to Special Exhibitions that is aimed at helping art history students and professors visit shows that are pertinent to their studies, whether within or beyond the United States. Awards from the fund will be granted through a jury of CAA staff.

The executive director of CAA, Hunter O’Hanian, said in a release, “This incredibly generous gift will not only support art history scholars and students for years to come, it is a powerful message to the visual arts field that their work is as important as ever. The new Fund also reinforces CAA as the preeminent organization supporting and advancing professionals in the visual arts and design.”
