Galerie Nagel Draxler to Open Space in Cologne –
Galerie Nagel Draxler, which currently has two spaces in Berlin, will open an outpost in Cologne, at Elisenstraße 4-6. The gallery previously held two to three exhibitions a year in a rented, temporary space in the German city, but its new location, which will be designed by Roger Bundschuh Architects, is permanent, according to a release posted to Nagel Draxler’s website.
“Today Cologne and Berlin are the two most important places for art in Germany,” the gallery wrote in a statement. “Along with the established generation of galleries, a younger scene is growing in Cologne. The revival of the iconic avant-garde fair Art Cologne brings the world’s most important players of the art market to the Rhineland every April.”
The gallery has planned an Egan Frantz exhibition as the first show in the new Cologne space, to open on April 18. Currently listed on its roster are Kader Attia, Mark Dion, Andrea Fraser, Josephine Pryde, Martha Rosler, Luke Willis Thompson, and Christine Wang, among others.
