Photographers Are Mobilizing to Sell Prints to Benefit Ukraine—Here’s Our Running List of What You Can Buy Where

In the days since Russia invaded Ukraine, individuals and organizations have been stepping up to raise awareness and much-needed funds to aid the two million refugees fleeing violence. In the art world, auction houses and galleries have announced fundraising efforts, while institutions are distancing themselves from Russian oligarchs.

Online, a slew of print fundraisers are cropping up aiming to raise money and remind people of the beauty of the country now roiled with violence. Below, see our ongoing list of print fundraisers.

 

Who: Have a Butchers and Hempstead May and May Print are promoting a charity sale featuring photographs by artists including Alec Soth, Jamie Hawkesworth, and Jack Davidson for £50 ($66.50) each. Prints are unsigned and printed on fine art archival paper at 10 inches by eight inches, with proceeds going to the British Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal.

When: Through Friday, March 11, 2022

 

Who: Fast Forward: Women in Photo, located at the University for the Creative Arts in the U.K. is organizing a group of female photographers from Ukraine to sell limited-edition prints to help raise funds for emergency organizations. The minimum donation for each print is £50 ($65.50), and bidders are instructed to contact organizers via direct message on Instagram. Featuring works by: Oksana Demianec @oxandem; Daria Kuzmina @_marilyn_marlene; Maria Kazvan @mariakazvan; Daria Bedernichek @Polyn911; Nalina Vaine @nata.theatre, and others.

When: Through Saturday, March 12, 2022

 

Who: Art4Ukraine supported by The Print Space, a London-based carbon neutral photo and art printing organization. The project is aiming to raise money to support refugees from Ukraine as they are displaced and in need of food, shelter, and medical assistance. Each A4 archival photo print is available for £100 ($131) including global postage, and profits will be split between Choose Love and War Child.

When: Through Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 10 p.m.

 

Who: Neu Workshop, a Munich-based community and non-profit multi-use project space is teaming up with publishing outfit JETZT to launch a limited-edition run of prints to help those affected by the war in Ukraine. All proceeds (purchased via PayPal) will be split between charities Voices of Children; Vostok-SOS, an organization that aids victims of military aggression; and humanitarian aid service Libereco. Each print is available for 50€ ($55).

When: Through Thursday, March 31, 2022

 

Who: Her Clique, the curated art platform founded by former Paddle8 CEO Izabela Depczyk, is hosting Artists for Ukraine, a sale featuring work by artists including Cindy Sherman, Laurie Simmons, Marilyn Minter, Austyn Weiner, and Katherine Bradford, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting the Voices of Children foundation.

When: Beginning March 10, 2022

 

Who: U.K.-based Darwin Magazine and Metro Imaging are presenting Photos for Ukraine, a print sale benefiting the non-profit War Child UK. 

Six photos by artists Ruth Baldry, Karabo Mooki, Hao Nguyen, Eva Watkins, Sara Meinz, Alex Ingram, and Allie and Jen are available in a limited run (20 prints per image), each printed on eight-inch-by-10-inch archival paper, priced at £50 ($56.50).
